Overview

The Senior Blow Molding Process Technician is responsible for being the subject matter expert (SME) for all blow molding machines to produce high-quality products and reduce down-time. This role involves troubleshooting, process optimization and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Your Role At Prestone

Owns, Manages and plan Blow Molding activities such as process validation, controls and procedures, part design, tool optimization, operation and maintenance of equipmentDevelop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all blow molding machines.Perform training from last update of SOP’s Process ownership and compliance including but not limited to:Air compressors, air settings, chiller and water temperatures, blender settings, parison air settings and position, knock out rod inspection, IMLsPlanning and regular review of daily, weekly, monthly preventative maintenanceManage mold maintenance, repair and refurbishment processes, and tracks units produced and repair documentation.Review and follow through of quality data to make necessary machine adjustments ensuring bottles produced are within specificationsPerform mechanical troubleshooting to ensure machines are running efficientlyPerform operator functions such as adjust machine settings and set up moldsOperate and maintain blow molding machines when necessaryComplete required paperwork for accurate production when operating machinesEnsure blow molding machines are operating in a safe, efficient mannerSupport organizational wide initiatives including but not limited to spares, corporate support, bottle profileMaintain a clean and safe work environmentOther duties as assigned, based on operational needs or special projects.
Required Qualifications: (required or preferred)

High School diploma or equivalent.5+ years blow molding or plastic manufacturing experience in a manufacturing facilityMust be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs5+ Advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills- mechanical aptitude and ability to operate complex machineryProficiency of precision machining and measuring toolsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detailExcellent communication and teamwork skillsKnowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams Ability and willingness to work as team member to perform training and constant coaching operator. People oriented.Able to travel with short term notice (5%).

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years blow molding or plastic manufacturing experience in a manufacturing facility10+ Advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills- mechanical aptitude and ability to operate complex machineryBilingual a plus (English and Spanish)

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Must be able to go up and down stairs and ladders frequentlyAbility to lift up to 60 pounds. Ability to operate a forklift and walk behind liftMust be able to stand for the majority of the shiftUse a variety of hand tools and precision measurement toolsExposure to heat, noise and plastic resin odorsThe production facility is within an indoor industrial environment and is not climate controlled

Pay Range- $25-$40 per hour
