"Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

The HR Generalist supports the Human Resources department by managing a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing, compliance, and performance management. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring HR and payroll processes are accurate, timely, and compliant with employment laws.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Experience, education, certifications, general knowledge, skills and abilities)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred. Advanced HR/PHR/SPHR certification and training is a plus.

Years of Related Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources.

Essential Functions (Fundamental duties necessary to achieve the objective of the position)

Employee Relations

Serve as an HR contact for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issuesSupport investigations and conflict resolution in coordination with HR leadershipPromote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture

Recruitment & Onboarding

Manage job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordinationManage onboarding and orientation for new hiresEnsure accurate completion of new-hire documentation and system setup

Payroll Administration

Process bi-weekly accurately and on timeEnsure payroll changes (new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, deductions) are processed correctlyCoordinate payroll audits, reconciliations, and correctionsEnsure compliance with wage and hour laws, overtime, garnishments, and tax requirements

HR Administration

Maintain accurate employee records, payroll data, and HRIS systemsPrepare payroll and HR reports as neededSupport offboarding, including final pay and benefits coordination

Benefits & Compensation

Administer employee benefits enrollments, changes, and terminationsServe as a liaison with benefits and payroll vendorsSupport compensation reviews and audits

Compliance & Policy

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and payroll lawsAssist with policy development, updates, and enforcementSupport internal and external audits and regulatory reporting

Performance & Development

Assist with performance review cyclesCoordinate training and employee development initiativesTrack training completion and certificationsPerforms other assignments as directed.

Specific Requirements of the Position (Knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the functions)

Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices

Strength of character, ethics, commitment and reliability

Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)

Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving and decision making

Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems

Ability to work with ATS software

In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, like resume databases and online communities

Ability to execute daily tasks with little to no supervision

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Extremely strong organizational and time management skills
