The significant turnover growth of Marie-Stella-Maris in recent years will continue in the coming years, including through the expansion of its own retail organization, online sales and international sales. A constantly changing market requires, among other things, a clear vision and policy with regard to Retail. Pragmatic hands-on management of a flat and agile retail organization with short lines will lead to the intended increase in turnover, while costs must be kept under control and margins must be tightly controlled in order to optimally contribute to the social projects worldwide. General Counsel
As General Counsel, you will act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Management Team, providing proactive, commercially minded legal guidance across the business. You focus on enabling growth by translating complex legal matters into clear, practical advice, with a strong emphasis on commercial contracts, intellectual property, and retail and wholesale operations. This role is not about creating legal barriers, but about building a solid legal foundation that supports scale and international growth. You will work hands-on, navigating legal challenges in multiple markets, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations, and setting up the legal function from the ground up. By establishing clear processes, policies, and best practices, you help Marie-Stella-Maris grow responsibly while managing risk in a pragmatic and business-oriented way.

And who bringA Master’s degree in Dutch Law (LL.M. or equivalent).8+ years of relevant experience as a qualified lawyer or General Counsel, gained in private practice and/or in-house roles.A strong background in commercial contracts, intellectual property, and retail and wholesale operations.Experience advising senior management and navigating complex legal matters, ideally in an international context.Knowledge of Benelux legal frameworks; international exposure is a strong plus.A business-oriented, commercially minded approach with pragmatic problem-solving skills.Fluency in both Dutch and English.
