WHO R U?As the financial accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial operations of NAMED COLLECTIVE, working closely with the Financial Controller to deliver accurate financial reporting, compliance, and analysis.

DETAIL OBSESSED: You have a strong attention to accuracy and consistency, ensuring all transactions, reconciliations, and financial records are correct and compliant with regulations.
PROACTIVE PROBLEM-SOLVER: You can interpret financial data, identify discrepancies or variances, and collaborate across teams (such as operations and community experience) to resolve issues effectively and improve financial processes.
ACCOUNTING PRO: Youll bring solid accounting knowledge (including VAT, management accounts, and audits) and can adapt to handling diverse tasks such as ecommerce transactions, inventory accounting, and inter-company reconciliations.
THE ROLEProcess and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment and collectionsEnsure that all transactions (sales, expenses, purchases) are correctly recorded in the accounting systemHelp manage and track ecommerce sales transactions, returns, and refunds in collaboration with the operations teamPrepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulationsAssist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysisManage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including posting journal entries, recording all financial transactions, and maintaining accurate records in the general ledgerPrepare weekly payment run, reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and payment gateway accounts (e.g., PayPal, Stripe) regularlyAssist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reportsSupport the preparation of year-end financial statements and work closely with auditorsReconcile intercompany transactions and resolve discrepanciesManage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and in accordance with company policiesSupport with stock valuation and inventory accounting in line with the business requirements
A GOOD FIT LOOKS LIKEPart-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong desire to complete your qualificationPrevious experience in a finance role, ideally within an ecommerce or retail businessSolid understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingProficient in using accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Excel or Google SheetsKnowledge of VAT and tax regulations, specifically in the context of ecommerceStrong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organisational skillsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise across departments and present financial information to non-financial stakeholdersAbility to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying areas for improvementExperience in managing e-commerce sales data, including integration with platforms such as Shopify or similarKnowledge of multi-currency transactions and international tax regulationsBased in LondonEligible to work in the UK"
